If you just joined the party here is a quick note to bring you in on the news, we participated in a 30 day vlog challenge. We completed it! Yay!

Yes it is a made up word. But that probably should serve to describes my level of excitement. I’m so thrilled I’m making up words!

I can’t say we’ve had the best of luck finding and working with a logo designer. For one reason or another things weren’t exactly working out. But, at the beginning of April our friend Nikki recommended her logo designer. We were so frustrated at this point that we really needed to start fresh. Molly came to our rescue, no really she did! I knew by the first email response this was going to work out perfectly! Her Etsy shop name is Sweet Potato, and really that is just the cutest and sweetest of all starches (pun intended).

From that email on, everything was a breeze, and we developed a logo in less than 3 weeks! It was a tough selection, but we finally saw THE ONE!

We took on this 30 day vlog challenge because of someone else crazy idea. Like we keep mentioning we are so glad we did. We met so many amazing other photographers and people in general. So we all pitched in and made a thank you video out to Tim King. You really need to see all are new awesome friends.

We did it! – 30 Day Vlog Challenge

*Insert happy dances right here* Today is the day friends, that we completed the 30 day vlog challenge. Although we are super happy, we know the amount of work it took and sometimes we weren’t quite sure if we would get to the end of it. But we are so glad we did. Tonight we are going out and celebrating, because it’s probably one of the first challenges and goal we signed up together and completed together. That’s right we are ordering dessert tonight!!

We want to thank everyone for tuning in and watching and especially for sending in feedback and questions. We heart you guysss mucho!

We have decided to continue making videos probably on a monthly basis so please continue sending in questions and ideas so that we can make them as relevant and enjoyable as possible.

Why I am a wedding photographer – 30 Day Vlog Challenge

It was only fair that you also hear Tom’s reason for being a wedding photographer. Although our stories are quite different we’re glad that the paths we took lead us to today, and will continue leading us to our future. This challenge has helped us direct our focus in where we need to continue going with our business and also has helped us get to know each other better. I feel it is important for us to share that this has been a learning process, a great one in fact and we only hope to continue using all this inspiration.

Finding a photographer can sometimes turn into a challenge, but finding the right photographer for you can be super easy or as difficult as can be. I share some of the most important aspects in helping you find the right photographer. Including what you should expect to pay, setting up meetings etc.

Advantages of working as a couple – 30 Day Vlog Challenge

We thought today we’d give you a little perspective on the advantages we believe we have working together as wedding photographers. We especially enjoy working together as we have become familiar with how each of us work. After 3 years of working together we know we can rely on each other and always know ahead of time who will be photographing each aspect of the wedding day.

For some reason we had a difficult time trying to film it all in one take so enjoy the bloopers at the end of this video

Why I am a Wedding Photographer – 30 Day Vlog Challenge

First thing’s first - let’s get the obvious out of the way – I was not letting this challenge go by without polka-dots. And so, in today’s vlog, you will find both my polka dot dress, my love for photography, and ultimately why I am a wedding photographer.

I guess we did save the big questions for the end part of this 30 day vlog challenge but all we can say is it has been amazing (not to mention difficult) to come up with topics and enjoying every moment of composing them.

I hope this video gives you a better perspective as to why I am still photographing, and like any other dream, it isn’t easy but then again I don’t think it’s supposed to be.

Canon 600EX-RT Speedlites Review – 30 Day Vlog Challenge

Tom’s video today is a bit of an unboxing and review on the new Canon 600Ex-RT Speedlites. He wanted to do something manly like an unboxing video to compensate for yesterday’s photoshoot haul. So here you have it a little more in depth of what we use for reception lighting, including Impact Air-Cushioned Heavy Duty Light Stand with the Manfrotto 026 Swivel Umbrella Adapter. Recently we have completely switched to the Sanyo Eneloop Rechargeable AA Batteries, for more info on this watch today’s video and Tom has also covered what is in our camera bag.

Photoshoot Haul – 30 Day Vlog Challenge
